Diving in Ayvalik
In Ayvalik exist some diving schools which offer differnt courses and diving opportunites. You can see mantas, octopus and red corals. It´s also ideal for those who like to take underwater fotos.

Ali Bey or Cunda Insel
The locals didn´t get used to the new name “Ali Bey Adasi”. The biggest island in front of Ayvalik is called “Cunda”.
The 500 houses in the neo-classical style and the great churches are giving a romantic sight to the area. The promenade with many cafes and restaurants is ideal for an evening trip.

Patrica - die undiscovered beauty
In the bay Patrica you will find the abondonned villages Patrica I und Patrica II of the Greeks. The natural beaches and the flora enthuse all natural lovers. During spring and summer you will see wild orchids, gladiolus and different herbs as thyme and fennel.

Walking though the olive groves
The aged olive trees are a wonderful view. You can wander from Cunda town to Patrica through the olive groves. The road is unpaved, so it makes sence to ware good shoegear. After a small rest in Patrica I, you can walk until the “Moonlight Monastery”. They from Cunda to the monastery is 10 km long.

Beaches
The beaches are not overcrowed yet as in the tourism areas. Many bays have still natural beaches which you can reach by bus, Dolmus or boat.

Lesvos - more then just another greek island
The 3rd largest island of Greece is Lesvos. Ayvalik and Lesvos have a common history - the population exchange of 1922. Some of Lesvos people have their roots in Ayvalik. There are daily trips from Ayvalik to Lesvos through the summer time. If you wish to stay there a couple of days, we will help you to find a accomondation.

Pergamon
Pergamon is just 45 km away from Ayvalik and ideal for a day trip. Close to the village there is the historical site Pergamon. It is worldwide know for the “Asklepion” - the first hospital of the ancient time and the biggest library.

Assos
Admirable in Assos is the temple of Athene and the wonderful view over the bay and the view to the Greek island Lesvos. With car you need approx. 2 hours from Ayvalik to Assos. Aristoteles gave Alexander lessons in art, mathematics and philosophy.

Adatepe
The only olive oil museum exists in Adatepe. They say that Paris, the son of King Priamos has spent his youth here in this area. Beside the museum you can buy olive products such as oil and soap.

Boat-Trips
Daily boat trips are offered from the Ayvalik harbout to the islets. An unique opportunity to see the island from very close. It´s a highlight of any Ayvalik visit. Private boats or family-owned boats are offerings a wonderful trip with a fish-lunch. During summertime you have to pre-book.
