Ayvalik offers with its wonderful bay and romantic old town a wonderful sight. Walking through the narrow streets of Ayvalik can give you a view how life was 100 years ago.
The houses are of the “Greek Period” of the town. You will find here wonderful buildings of the “greek revival” of the neo-classical architecture. No stress - no rush in Ayvalik. During the summerdays people are sitting in front of their doors and chatting about daily live.

Thursday is market day in Ayvalik. Beside healthy fruit and vegetable, you can find here bags, jackets, shoes etc. etc. Our greek neighbours from the Island Lesvos are travelling every Thursday by ferry to Ayvalik to enjoy our great market.

During springtime hundreds of flowers are blooming between the olive groves. With 1.750.000 olive trees Ayvalik is the main center for olive in Turkey. You will find here the typical Agean kitchen with a lot of olive oil dishes. During springdays, it is wonderful to walk through the olive groves. More than 700 flowers are blooming at the same time !

During the summertime the horsecars bring us melons and during winter patatoes and onions, until the front door of our house.

The most beautiful beach of Ayvalik is “Cataltepe”. Away from the crowd you can spend there your day with swimming, snorcheling or reading in the small cafe. The Paterica Bay is also beautiful... here you are alone with the sea and the olive groves.

At the antique market in Ayvalik you can find anything you wish... Old pictures, old money, handcraft, vases... more and more.... Twice a month there is an additional antik flu market.
